WELCOME

L’Agulhas Nature Reserve is a residential nature area situated on the slopes above the coastal villages of Agulhas and Struisbaai. The Private Nature Reserve’s design gives each plot a north facing aspect with superb panoramic views of the sea, mountain ranges and a distant freshwater lake.

The reserve is roughly, as the crow flies, 2 km from the cairn at Cape Agulhas that marks the southern point of the African continent.  Due to the unique position as the southern most Private Nature Reserve in Africa, you can have the extraordinary experience of viewing the Indian Ocean to the East and the Atlantic Ocean to the West whilst standing on the property.

The L’Agulhas Nature Reserve is conveniently located for easy access to various centres in the Western Cape.  It lies approximately 34 km from Bredasdorp, 216 km from Cape Town International Airport (a leisurely 2.5 hour drive on the N2 National Road), 330 km from George and 117 km from Hermanus.

There are a number of places of interest in the vicinity of the reserve. Right on the doorstep is “Die Plaat”, the white sandy beach located at Struisbaai. This beach stretches as far as Arniston (±24 km); it is the longest unobstructed white sand beach in the Southern hemisphere.  Soetendalsvlei, some 8 km north of L’Agulhas Nature Reserve, is the largest natural fresh water lake in South Africa with an outlet to the sea.

The plot layout and building regulations in L’Agulhas guarantee unobstructed views; this combined with a vast nature lovers paradise make this a superb location to put down roots.

If you are a nature lover or purely seeking a place to retire or have a holiday home then this is the location for you.  Look no further, come and join us on what we regard as the most precious property in Africa – a truly undiscovered gem of the south.
